Below is all the information you need to know to be run ready for Sunday 14th March!
COVID Safe information.
All efforts will be made to make sure that the 2021 Ballarat Cycle Classic is a COVID Safe event.
The event will be adapted to be a COVID Safe event so you will see a few changes, but we are excited to still deliver the event for cancer research.
We have worked with the Victorian government to ensure the events COVID Safe Operation Plan is in line with current guidelines and restrictions.
To ensure the comfort and safety of our community, some of the changes are:
- Participants must obey all Government COVID guidelines including traveling from hotspots.
- Participants are encouraged to download the CovidSafe app on their personal mobile phone and to carry the phone with them while participating.
- You are encouraged to collect your event kit before the event.
- All participants must always carry a mask before, during and after the finish of their event.
- Masks must be worn when interacting with event personnel, volunteers, First Aid personnel and if social distancing is not possible.
- If you are collecting a last-minute event pack on site, a mask must be worn, and social distancing rules apply.
- Runs will start at spaced times as per distance.
- All events will start in waves with capped participants.
- Participants are asked to socially distance at the start and finish line of events, in the event village area and follow Event Staff instruction always.
- Sanitation stations will be located at the start/finish line, rest stops and surrounding park lands on Lake Wendouree.
What you need to know

Event Packs
Event packs need to be picked up prior to the event. If you didn’t select to have
your event pack posted or for collection at CycleScape, your event pack will be available.
Saturday 20th February at the main Start/Finish line area on Windmill drive between 1:00-4:00pm. Alternatively from 6:30am on the day of the event.
If you have a friend that still hasn’t registered and would like to do so, never fear, last minute registrations will remain open online and onsite right up until the start.
*Anyone not wearing official event bib will not have access to event facilities, including rest stops and on course support.
Parking
Available free of charge at North Gardens from 6:30am
*No parking is strictly permitted on the inside lane of Lake Wendouree.

Course Map
Be sure to familiarise yourself with the course prior to the event.
Note the run will start on View Point, Lake Wendouree near the Boatshed Restaurant.
The Boring but Important Stuff
Rules & road information
- Runners must always obey road rules and traffic signals; where runner fail to obey road rules, Police will take appropriate action.
- Always run safely.
- Obey instructions from Events Marshals and traffic controllers.
- Always keep to the left.
- Participants must carry their provided enviro cup for their event. There are no cups at any rest stop.
- This is not a race but a personal challenge against the clock.
Signage
The Ballarat Cycle Classic Run will be marked with directional signage throughout the course. Runners deviating from the course will not be covered by our event insurance.
Be sure to familiarise yourself with the course prior to the event.
Aid stations and medical support
Aid stations will be provided around the course at the following locations. We will keep you well hydrated with water. There will be lollies and bananas at the finish line.
Rest stops are located at:
- 5km and 10km on the course
Please follow volunteer instructions at rest stops for the filling up you drink cup.
First Aid support will be provided by St Johns Ambulance Service. First Aid teams will be always on course. There will also be a First Aid tent in the start and finish line.
